Teatime Today: out for ice cream at Sustain

2 spoons to dig in together
how to order acai/pitaya bowl
totally loved

Little Brother's first time out for "ice cream". We went to Sustain. What a beautiful bowl of goodness to share! And an awesome way to spend an hour together hugging, giggling.  This is joy. Perhaps a monthly date? Bowls made in designated space and very low risk of cross-contamination with peanut butter.  There is no dairy, gluten or egg (well, maybe gluten in one granola).  Please note that the nice cream is made with almonds.

Blueberry Orange Dinosaur Gummies: Flashback to a few years ago

a fun treat to take out for a Sunday morning hike
 * a post I had drafted and never published

"Yay, Hooray" for gummies!  Don't you want to make fun gummies? They are quick, easy, fun to eat and made with quality ingredients. I'm going to leave it at that and post this recipe without much of an introduction or explanation. Just say: "yay, hooray" like Baby Brother does when he is excited.

What you need:
100 grams frozen wild blueberries
150 grams fresh squeezed orange juice
20 grams of honey
2-3 tablespoons (60 grams) of gelatin

What to do:
Add Berries and orange juice into TM bowl and cook for 3 mins, 80 degrees, speed 1 with MC off.

Let cool to 60 degrees

Add honey and stir for 10 sec on speed 2.

With blades rotating on speed 3, slowly add the gelatin through the hole in the lid until all mixed in.

Pour into mold and let set in fridge until solid

Yay, horray!  Gummy time!

Teatime today: Tumeric Latte

What you need:
250-300 grams coconut or almond milk
1 teaspoon Gaia Golden Milk

What to do:
In TM, heat for 4 minutes, 80 degrees, speed 4
Blend for 20 seconds, speed 9 until frothy

Allergy-Safe Playdough

one with just lavender essential oil and one with blueberries (only did this experiment once)

This is how we make our playdough.  Original recipe found here

What you need:

500 grams baking soda
200 grams corn startch
380 grams water
30 grams olive oil (when I made with EVOO, turned rancid faster)
1 tsp cream of tarter
coloring of choice, or glitter
scent of choice, I add lavender essential oil

What to do:

Add all ingredients, except cream of tarter (and except add-ins until end).
Once it's stirring, add in the tarter.
Set 8 minutes, speed 3, 80 degrees.
Set 1 minute, 90 degrees.
It will still be loose, it will firm up as it cools. If you want a firmer dough, cook the whole recipe 8 minutes, 90 degrees.
Tip out, let cool, store in tightly sealed container

Then, what do you eat?

When people learn of our foo allergies they often look at me in shock.  Then the same questions seems to come up: Then, what do you eat.  This series is my response.
